Kasey O'Sullivan |
Our spring 2024 sister spotlight is on Kasey O'Sullivan
Kasey O'Sullivan was born and raised in The Bronx, New York prior to moving to Florida during High School. After graduating from Lecanto High she briefly attended the College of Central Florida before transferring to Rutgers University. As a transfer student at Rutgers, Kasey became interested in sorority life as a way to make friends and become more involved with both her school and local community. After being initiated into the Delta Mu chapter of Gamma Phi Beta in 2014, Kasey lived in the sorority's campus house for one year and enjoyed building relationships with her sisters and participating in academic and philanthropic activities during this time. During her senior year of college Kasey jumped at the chance to accept a Human Resources internship with the Tampa Bay Lightning, sparking a newfound interest in hockey that she still enjoys to this day. After graduating from Rutgers in 2016, Kasey transitioned from her position as a Server at Olive Garden into a role on their corporate Human Resources team at Darden's Headquarters in Orlando, Florida. Having shifted into the tech industry in 2019, Kasey continues to work within the HR discipline, and is currently enrolled in a People Analytics program at New York University to further develop her skill set and support the ever-evolving People function. Kasey lives in Downtown Tampa with her best pal Ozzy, and enjoys frequenting the Riverwalk, Lightning games, and city-sponsored events. She is an active member of both the Rutgers Club of Tampa Bay and the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's Central & Northeastern Florida Chapter, and as a third generation IBD patient enjoys volunteering with the chapter and bringing awareness to the foundation's crucial work. Kasey has been a member of the Tampa Bay Alumnae group since 2021, attending virtual events while living near Ocala, Florida, before moving closer in 2023 and finally having the opportunity to begin meeting other members and attending in-person events. She looks forward to the opportunity to continue getting to know sisters of our Alumnae group and attending chapter events while living in Tampa. |
